Hélène Hendriks is currently in a wheelchair and can therefore no longer live independently. She has to go under the knife and that is why she squeezes it out for a while. “Speculations.”

Hélène Hendriks is really not doing well at the moment, because the presenter may have one or two legs, her hip, her left foot or her right foot broken. She is currently in a wheelchair and is waiting for an operation in the hospital, after which she will really be out of the running for many weeks. In other words: it’s all wrong.

In a wheelchair

Hélène tells in the Today Inside From last night that she has a huge medical problem. “Without making it too big, because it is not that interesting at all, but I have to undergo surgery in two weeks, so unfortunately I miss the start of the Oranjezomer.”

Colleague René van der Gijp: “You are in a wheelchair now, man.”

Hélène: “I’m in a wheelchair, yes, but that’s temporary.”

“It’s going to be fine”

According to Hélène, people don’t have to worry. “It will be all right, but they wanted me to tell it, because otherwise everyone will speculate. People will see you in a wheelchair and then they think the worst, but in two weeks …”

Wilfred Genee: “Operation and then it will be quite normal?”

Hélène: “Then it will be all right.”

Weeks of

René thinks Hélène will get back on his feet soon. “Operation, then two weeks and then try to restore a week?

Hélène: “No, I’ll be out for a little longer.”

René: “But after two weeks you try to get out of bed again?”

Hélène: “Yes, yes, yes, yes.”

Johan Derksen: “Can you still tell how it came or not?”

Private

Hélène does not mean what exactly is going on. She’s just joking: “Yes, but we would leave that out? We just leave that between us.”

Johan: “We don’t do that anymore, right?”

Hélène jokingly: “You just have to take another mattress. That’s the most important thing.”

On 26 May, Hélène would present the season opener of the Oranjezomer, but Johnny de Mol is going to do that now. He would only take over from her on July 21. “Yes, that is super nice. He would also do the last four weeks because I will work at Ziggo, but he does it indeed.”
