Heavyweight: Tyson Fury invites Anthony Joshua to fight

Challenge instead of resignation: WBC world champion Tyson Fury has invited Anthony Joshua to a heavyweight mega fight. Will there be a British boxing duel?

Tyson Fury has unequivocally challenged Anthony Joshua to a heavyweight fight “within the coming months” via Instagram. After the fight against Oleksandr Usyk, which Joshua lost after twelve rounds, his British compatriot was in good physical condition to be able to compete against him promptly, the “Gypsy King” said.

“I think you’ve all heard that I’m going to fight in the coming months,” Fury said in a video that proudly shows him with his world championship belts.

After a few more brief words, the 34-year-old boxing champion turned directly to Anthony Joshua. “I know you just lost to Usyk and that’s why you don’t have any belts at the moment,” Fury said, adding: “I want to give you the opportunity to compete against me for the WBC belt and the linear world champion in the next few months title to fight.”

If Joshua shows interest like this, Fury would “send him a date”, the WBC world champion continued: “Then we can fight.”

Fury wants “Battle of Britain” against Joshua

The fans could then look forward to a “Battle of Britain” for the WBC title. “Let me know if you want that,” Fury concluded his prompt. If Joshua wasn’t interested, he would choose another opponent.

Tyson Fury had made a number of resignations from retirement in recent months. Most recently, there was speculation about a duel with Oleksandr Usyk. But so far there has been no unification fight with the Ukrainian, who holds the belts of the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO.

That may also have been due to Fury’s demands, which demanded 500 million pounds for the mega fight. “If you want to see the Gypsy King in the ring, you have to pay a huge sum to see the greatest fight in the world,” the 34-year-old said recently.

A corresponding deadline, which Fury sent to the Usky camp for decision-making, ended a few days ago.
