Hans Klok is quite pissed off at Wilfred Genee and states that the presenter screwed him really bad. The bone of contention? An almost meeting with Bridget Maasland. “I was abused.”
In addition to Today Inside, Wilfred Genee also makes a radio program on BNR and has a different well-known sidekick every week. In November Bridget Maasland came by and that made for awkward radio, mainly because of her, but also a little because of him. At one point he casually shouted that Hans Klok had also been invited.
Hans cancels
We all know by now that Bridget and Hans hate each other even more than Rachel Hazes hates her children, so to invite them together in one show is of course very false. Wilfred revealed during the broadcast that Hans had canceled when he heard that Bridget was coming, and Bridget indicated that he had not even been informed.
The presenter claimed: “I saw the script this morning and then I thought: hey, how nice, they are sitting at the table together, but then I called Mireille and said: ‘Do they both know that they are sitting at the table together?’ That turned out not to be the case.”
Screwed
How does Hans look back on this? Has the feud with Bridget flared up again? After all, he was not happy with some statements she made to Wilfred. “No, not at all, why? Because of Wilfred Genee’s radio show, you mean?” he adds Weekend.
The illusionist does not allow himself to be fooled by the VI star. “Wilfred screwed me. But that is also his style and his program: a bit mean. But fine, let them burst.”
Cup of coffee
Hans didn’t cancel in anger at all. “When I heard that Bridget was the main guest on the day I was coming, I said: ‘Then I thank you for the honor, because Bridget and I have to have a cup of coffee together before we are in the same program.’ It was my only day off and I didn’t really feel like it.”
“Wilfred and his team purely abused me for this, because they had known for a long time that Bridget was the main guest, but they informed me of this at the last minute. And a few hours later they did put me among the names of guests and then everyone noticed that I was suddenly not there.”
Battle axe
Was he afraid of a big radio fight with Bridget? “No, I buried the hatchet. It’s done. We don’t have to go on holiday together. Her son is Keet’s half-brother, the daughter of Nathalie and Pepijn, so I don’t want to say anything bad about Bridget anymore.”
Then why didn’t he just leave? “Because I think it is polite to say something first before suddenly sitting across from each other. I want to tell my story and then she can tell her story. On the other hand, I don’t feel like doing that at all.”
