It appears that Chris Zegers will start working as the successor to Martine van Os in the program We Are There Almost. “It helps that he doesn’t have small children.”
After fifteen years of loyal service, Chris Zegers is leaving as the permanent presenter of 3 Op Reis, but he says he will continue to travel. According to TV authority Tina Nijkamp, he could easily start working as a senior tour guide for We Are There Almost, which Martine van Os has stopped after years of persistent complaints.
Logical choice
It would be a good choice, Tina said in her podcast Tina’s TV Update. “Then I thought: yes, that would be a very logical choice for him to become that. He has all kinds of lines within Omroep MAX and has also filled in for Sybrand Niessen at Tijd voor MAX, so it could just be possible.”
She continues: “It is of course also a very nice choice. Of course, Omroep MAX also has a lot of good faces, such as Carrie ten Napel and Dionne Stax.”
Little children
Why wouldn’t MAX go for Carrie or Dionne? “They could of course do that very well, but hey, these are women with small children at home. Chris Zegers’ children are already a bit older, so it is easier to leave home for a few weeks.”
Tina concludes: “I think it would be a very logical choice and I think it would also be very surprisingly fun. I think it is a good match.”
