‘He delivers a bad product!’

Jeroen Pauw is heavily slated as producer of the talk show HLF8. According to Johan Derksen it is a travesty that he delivers such a bad product. “It’s a tragic low.”

Hélène Hendriks announced a few weeks ago that she had sent a strong letter to Jeroen Pauw and that the ailing talk show HLF8 is completely changing. However, the program has now been running for a few days and still looks exactly the same as last season. It is really very bad, says Johan Derksen.

Tragic low point

Johan tells in Today Inside that he is not impressed. He watched yesterday’s episode and is in shock. “HLF8 was a tragic low.”

Colleague René van der Gijp: “That was a train accident!”

Johan: “The presenter, Leontien… Oh, Leonie, she was not doing well. Heleen van Royen again started talking about her own adventures of her boyfriend, a drummer, that no dog was interested in. It was horrible.”

I love Holland

The subjects are also very bad, says Johan. “It was one advertisement for Ik Hou Van Holland, an incredibly hopeless program. All those comedians who are not fun are sitting there having a good time.”

He mentions Leo Alkemade as an example. “How dare that man call himself a comedian?”

Johan does not think it is surprising that HLF8 attracts so few viewers. “No, it hasn’t gotten any better. It just keeps bouncing and you can see that in the ratings. They just keep bouncing around.”

Wrong product

Jeroen Pauw delivers messy work, says Johan. “The production is in the hands of Jeroen Pauw and these are all people who pretend to know TV and they just deliver a bad product every day.”

Finally: how does he find the broadcasts with Hélène Hendriks as presenter? “Hélène does it a lot nicer, but she also does it with a fresh reluctance, because she doesn’t like doing it.”
