HBL: Second win of the season for Rhein-Neckar Löwen

Handball Cup winners Rhein-Neckar Löwen celebrated their second victory in their fourth game of the still young Bundesliga season.

Coach Michael Jacobsen’s team achieved a 31:29 (18:16) win against Kellerkind Bergischer HC in front of 2,817 spectators in Düsseldorf, which slipped to the bottom of the table with two points, at least temporarily.

In a duel in midfield, HC Erlangen celebrated its third win of the season with a clear 28:23 (14:14) against newly promoted ThSV Eisenach. Hampus Olsson was an outstanding player for the winners with seven goals in front of a good 4,000 spectators.

Gustav Davidsson was the Lions’ best thrower with six hits. National right winger Patrick Groetzki, who played his 500th game in the Handball Bundesliga (HBL), scored three times. The best shooter of the game was Linus Arnesson from BHC with eight goals.
