HBL: Lions win thriller – Stuttgart celebrates its premiere

The Rhein-Neckar Löwen kept their clean sheet in the Handball Bundesliga and jumped back to the top of the table. The Mannheim team won a thriller with 27:26 (13:11) at Bergisches HC and also left the record as the winner in the sixth game of the season.

The BHC kept the game open until the end, Niclas Kirkelökke only scored seconds before the end to win for the lions. Former national team captain Uwe Gensheimer was the guests’ best thrower with six goals.

Meanwhile, TVB Stuttgart, who parted ways with coach Roi Sanchez just a few days ago, celebrated their first win of the season. Thanks to a strong second half, the Swabians, under interim coach Michael Schweikardt, won 32:28 (13:12) against TVB Lemgo Lippe.

On the other hand, GWD Minden and promoted ASV Hamm-Westfalen are still without points. Bottom light Minden lost despite a big fight against TSV Hannover-Burgdorf with 34:35 (16:17), Hamm had no chance against HSG Wetzlar with 23:29 (10:12).
