Terrible rebuff for GWD Minden: At TVB Stuttgart, Aaron Ziercke’s team had absolutely no chance in the 26:35 (10:22) defeat.
Actually, the people of Minden were after the youngest Win against Leipzig (32:26) a whole lot in Stuttgart of all places. After all, with only four plus points to date, TVB was still placed behind GWD in the table.
And indeed: The East Westphalia team took a 2-0 lead after just a few game sequences: Alexander Weber and Ian Weck had scored. Stuttgart equalized, but GWD were still ahead after ten minutes when Max Staar scored to make it 5:4.
6-0 run for Stuttgart sets the tone
But from the 11th minute onwards, the disaster began: Within just nine minutes, the Swabians went from 7:6 to 13:6 – Minden had holes in defense and nothing was going at all in their own attack.
Things didn’t get any better until the half-time siren: Stuttgart pulled away to a whopping 22:10 – the embarrassment began.
No chance of points
At least they seemed to have pulled themselves together during the break – in the second section GWD at least appeared to be on equal terms. Things were now evenly balanced, but the guests were unable to come close to winning a possible point again. So the score ended at 26:35.
It won’t get any easier: next weekend the team will welcome SC Magdeburg.
