After the end of a disastrous season, FC Schalke 04 wants to make nails with minds and present a new coach.
According to “Bild”, “top favorite” on the job should now be Lukas Kwasniok.
The 43-year-old is still under contract with SC Paderborn until 2026. However, it has been clear for several weeks that he will leave the East Westphalia in summer. According to him, one to two million euros will be said to be due.
Finally, it was said that FC Schalke 04 was in regular exchange with Kwasniok that he could well imagine a move to Gelsenkirchen. However, the German-Poles is also traded at Hannover 96, 1. FC Köln and at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
Whether Kwasniok will take over a new club again at the coming season is also in the stars. After his last game as a Paderborn head coach on Sunday at Karlsruher SC (0: 3), he indicated a possible coaching break.

He “used up his entire strength,” said Kwasniok. “I would say it is right and important to treat yourself to a break at this moment. Therefore, the probability is relatively high that I will not see me on the next season at the beginning.”
In two weeks, however, he pushed afterwards, it could look very different again.
FC Schalke 04: Frank Baumann is looking for the new coach
Schalke had contested the last two season games after the early separation from ex-coach Kees van Wonderen, directed by U23 coach Jakob Fimpel.
