The switch started this week in the Hulste and Bavikhove cabins. Interactive LED luminaires dimming at night to 30 percent of their full light intensity. Non-interactive LED lamps drop between 11 pm and 6 hours to 50 percent. Classic luminaires that have not yet been converted will be extinguished for the time being between 11.30 pm and 6 am. By the end of 2026 they will also be replaced by interactive LED lighting.
“With this switch, we are again taking a step towards sustainable and smart public lighting,” says competent ships Koen Opsomer. “We provide light where necessary, but with respect for the environment and energy consumption.”
