Happietaria fights for a better future for children and young people in Bangladesh. Pop-up restaurant opens doors in Groningen for the 28th time

From 17 November, volunteers will run a pop-up restaurant at Henri Dunantlaan 2 in Groningen for four weeks: Happietaria Groningen. The money they earn from this goes to charity.

Happietaria is an initiative of the national organization Tearfund. The aim is to collect as much money as possible for a project that fights against injustice and poverty. This year’s proceeds will benefit children and young people in Bangladesh, a country that is suffering from the consequences of the climate crisis.

The pop-up restaurant runs entirely on volunteers; students and other residents of Groningen and the surrounding area. Seven members of the student associations CSFR, GSV, Ichthus and Navigators Student Association Groningen form the management team.

Happietaria Groningen opens its doors for the 28th time. In 2019, 4,000 guests accounted for a record amount of 124,000 euros (for the fight against human trafficking in Asia).

Happietaria Groningen is open from November 17 to December 15 from Monday to Saturday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
