Hansi Flick apparently extends at FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona leads the table in the Spanish league. Hansi Flick’s success is apparently to be rewarded with a longer cooperation.
The sporting location could hardly be more promising – and also away from the lawn there is an course: As the Spanish newspaper “Marca” reports, Hansi Flick is at FC Barcelona before an extension of the contract until 2027. The current working paper of the former national coach is still running until the end of June 2026, but according to the report, an agreement for another year has been reached in the past few days.
Nevertheless, it remains calm: there should be no official confirmation of the club for the time being. Barça does not want to generate unnecessary sensation during the current season. The concentration should apply entirely to the sporting goals – the possible winning of the championship, trophy and champions League.
Another reason for the reluctance lies in the financial difficulties of the Catalans, according to “Marca”. Because of the requirements for the Financial FairPlay, the club currently only has limited scope for new obligations and contract extensions.
Flick had taken over the post at the Top Club in the Spanish Top Club last summer. Since then, the 60-year-old has also convinced critics-with good results and a clear course. He is only the third German coach in the history of the club to Hennes Weisweiler and Udo Lattek.
“I have my own mentality, like to work for this club, the best in the world. And I really appreciate what I have,” said Flick recently. The difficult financial framework does not scare him off: “I know the situation of the club and it’s not easy.”
