Hansa Rostock releases three players

Second division soccer team Hansa Rostock has reacted to the recent sporting crisis and apparently released three players.

According to the “Bild” newspaper, Thomas Meißner and Ridge Munsy were released for sporting reasons, while the club suspended talent Theo Gunnar Martens for disciplinary reasons.

“In this phase, the coach needs players who he trusts 100 percent to help him in the next four important games. He didn’t have that feeling with Munsy and Meißner,” said sports director Martin Pieckenhagen of “Bild”. At 19-year-old Martens, “there have been a few incidents in the last few weeks that I didn’t like,” added Pieckenhagen.

Meißner and Munsy, who played in the 2-0 draw against Kaiserslautern last Friday, have to keep fit in the second team or, according to the picture, can go on vacation early. Martens is said to recommend himself to the professionals again through assignments at Hansa II.

Hansa had only two points from the last four games. Rostock welcomes Jahn Regensburg on Saturday.
