Hansa Rostock extended with defender Damian Roßbach

After transfer from van der Werff

FC Hansa Rostock has extended the contract of defender Damian Roßbach until 2025. The 30-year-old central defender was trained at 1. FSV Mainz 05 and came to Rostock on a free transfer from Karlsruher SC in 2020.

“Damian represents the path we have taken in recent years and has developed into an important part of the team. He has been a member of the team council for two seasons, takes responsibility both on and off the pitch and always makes a constructive contribution to the club. He also has a high level of identification with Hansa and his role as a leader. We are therefore delighted that he will remain part of the crew,” said sporting director Kristian Walter.

The day before, FC Hansa had presented another reinforcement for the center of defense with Jasper van der Werff. The 24-year-old from SC Paderborn 07 will wear the Hanseatic jersey for a year on loan. “In Jasper, we have been able to bring a more experienced central defender to Rostock who is still capable of development, and he should make us even more versatile with his good individual tactical training and his good passing game as a whole,” says Walter.
