Breaks in the heated prestiget duel: Hannover 96 missed to commit itself in the top group of the 2nd Bundesliga.

The Hanoverians at home against the outsider Eintracht Braunschweig did not go beyond a 1: 1 (0-0) at home in the Lower Sachsenidby, which was interrupted several times.

The team of coach André Breitenreiter is now five points behind a direct promotion place, Josh Knight (90.+3) saved at least one counter. Lino Tempelmann (77th) had the table 16. in the lead.

Fans of the hosts threw pyrofagers in the first half, a few minutes later, tennis balls flew out of the spectator ranks on the back straight on the lawn. Referee Matthias Jöllenbeck each rested the game until the objects were cleared again. The interruptions also negatively influenced the sporting level. In a torn game, Nicolo Tresoldi still had the best chance, but failed due to Braunschweig’s goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann.

After the change of sides, the outsider presented himself as a more active team. Ex-national goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler had to intervene several times. Shortly afterwards, Eintracht player Sven Köhler had to be brought off the field with a stretcher after a collision, then Tempelmann cheered the Braunschweig supporters with his remarkable shot – Hannover struck back late.

The 96 supporters protested with the actions in the first half against the partial exclusion of the guest fans, which was imposed against the Braunschweig in the past after various riots. The organized fan scene of Eintracht boycotted the derby, only around 800 tickets for the away block were sold. The Hanoverian fans showed solidarity.
