Hannover 96 looked like the sure winner at Preußen Münster for a long time. But two late goals prevented the third win in a row.
Hannover 96 has lost the possible jump to a direct promotion place at Preußen Münster. The team gave up a 2-0 lead in a turbulent final phase and only managed a 2-2 (1-0). A third win in a row was not achieved, at least the Lower Saxony team temporarily climbed into the relegation place.
In front of 10,642 spectators, Benjamin Källman (41st) and substitute Daisuke Yokota (73rd) scored for Hannover. Münster, further in the middle of the table, came back late: Oliver Batista Meier shortened the score with a penalty (90+1), Zidan Sertdemir equalized in the sixth minute of added time.
In a tough first half, Hannover took the first clear opportunity to take the lead. After a coordination error by the Münster defense, Källman prevailed and scored safely – his ninth goal of the season.
Even after the break the game remained largely even. With about a quarter of an hour to go, Yokota made it 2-0 from close range. Batista Meier reduced the deficit after a foul by Ime Okon, before Joker Sertdemir made it 2-2 with a flat finish in stoppage time.
