HanesBrands appoints new Chief Financial Officer

HanesBrands has appointed Scott Lewis as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Lewis takes on the task with immediate effect, the US textile company announced on Tuesday. He will continue in his current position as Chief Accounting Officer, which he has held since 2015.

After the departure of the previous Chief Financial Officer Michael Dastugue, who left the company for family reasons at the end of February, Lewis was already active as Interim Chief Financial Officer. He should actually give up this task again as soon as HanesBrands has found a successor. Now the parent company of the sportswear brand Champion seems to be entrusting the HanesBrands veteran with it for the longer term.

He has been with the company for 17 years and has experience in the areas of accounting, taxes, controlling and external reporting. He also has more than 25 years of experience in leadership positions in the finance sector. From January 2020 to April 2021 he previously served as Interim Chief Financial Officer for HanesBrands.

“Scott has an in-depth knowledge of our business and finance organization and the Board and I are pleased to appoint him to CFO on a permanent basis,” said Steve Bratspies, CEO of HanesBrands. “Scott is a superb team player and has done outstanding work on two separate occasions as interim CFO. Scott’s experience and skills are ideally suited to position the company for future success.”
