In a scorching hot and atmospheric sports hall in Panningen, North Limburg, Volendam played another convincing match. Bevo, which had recently won the Super Handball League, had a lot of trouble with Volendam’s game. “If you reach the final so convincingly, I think we can be very proud and happy,” says Jordy Baijens.
Turbulent season
It is great that Volendam is in the final. It finished sixth in the Super Handball League and fired coach Geert Hinskens in February. Ricardo Clarijs took over and built a strong team. “It is a season in which a lot has happened,” says Clarijs. “If you had asked me a few weeks ago whether we would reach the final, I wouldn’t have thought so.”
