Handball players SEW show muscles and simply put HV Volendam aside

Prior to the confrontation between SEW (third) and HV Volendam (fourth), the difference was three points. That difference turned out to be much greater in sports hall De Bloesem in Wognum, because the West Frisians were much stronger. The handball players from Nibbixwoud lashed out: 42-26.

The team from Volendam was very sloppy in the first half in sports hall De Bloesem in Wognum. Volendam coach Zsigmond Makay coached along the line, because he was very dissatisfied. The Nibbixwouders took full advantage of the carelessness at Volendam.

SEW goalkeeper Myrthe Mak made some nice saves and also stopped two penalty throws. Other stars were Eline Veltrop and Isa op den Kelder, by scoring many goals. Partly because of this, it was 20-13 at halftime for the West Frisians.

Huge power difference

After the break, SEW got stronger and stronger. The difference in strength between the teams was clearly noticeable. The heads went hanging at Volendam and the handball players became increasingly sloppy. Partly due to many time penalties and violations, the West Frisians could easily run out.

From Volendam’s point of view, it was a painful second half, because it seemed as if they were throwing the hat at it. It was therefore great that SEW continued to play meticulously. The final score was 42-26. Noëlle Kistemaker was voted man of the match.
