As of: October 24, 2023 8:37 p.m

The handball players Foxes Berlin remain on the road to success in the European League.

The Bundesliga table leader clearly won against the clear outsiders HC Izvidac Ljubuski from Bosnia-Herzegovina with 34:22 (13:13). At least for one half they had more trouble than expected. The Foxes are now on course for the main round with two wins from two games. The best Berlin thrower was Mathias Gidsel with seven goals.

The guests got off to a quick start and quickly led 2-0. But afterwards many mistakes crept into the Berlin game. They were too erratic and unfocused, especially when it came to finishing. In addition, there were problems with the offensive defense of the highly motivated hosts at low speed.

How VfL Potsdam lives its cooperation with Füchse Berlin

VfL Potsdam was recently considered primarily as a training club for Füchse Berlin. A year after promotion, he is now shaking up the 2nd handball Bundesliga. A challenge for the future or rather the logical consequence? By Jakob Lobachmore

Captain Mijajlo Marsenic saw red

The Bosnians even took the lead for a while (5:3) and stayed with it throughout the first half. In the first group game at Dinamo Bucharest they conceded 52 goals. Given the high level of stress, Füchse coach Jaron Siewert gave the youngsters playing time early on.

After the break, the Berliners acted with much more concentration and were able to pull away for the first time (22:16). In the 43rd minute, captain Mijajlo Marsenic was shown a red card after an elbow strike, but that didn’t change the visitors’ clear superiority.
