Halina finds it an honor that she has received an invitation to become a member of the Academy, the organization that awardes the Oscars every year. “I am very happy and grateful,” the director and actress told it ANP.
“It is a girl’s dream to be able to experience this. To be part of such an impressive institute is more than I ever dared to hope. I am enjoying friends in a cafe in Amsterdam, but do a joy dance.”

Earlier, Dutch people such as director Paul Verhoeven, cameraman Hoyte van Hoytema, Grimeur Arjen Tuiten, Stuntman Willem de Beukelaer, costume designer Jany Temime and Editor Job ter Burg were admitted to the select company.
