Haftbefehl announces new album MAINPARK BABY

On Sunday (November 27th) Haftbefehl announced his new album MAINPARK BABY for December 2nd and released the first song along with a short film. Most recently he released THE BLACK ALBUM (2021) and THE WHITE ALBUM (2020). His new work should hit the thematic middle of the two albums. The rapper canceled the “Black and White” tour of the two albums in August and said “My body needs a break […] I don’t know yet how long she will go” to take a break.

The title alone connects Haftsperre to his previous discography, because MAINPARK BABY was already mentioned on the track “1999 Pt.5 (Mainpark Baby)”. He already started the “1999” series on RUSSIAN ROULETTE (2014), his fourth studio album. Now his seventh studio album is entitled MAINPARK BABY and the rapper says: “The white and the black album had a common thread, they belonged inseparably together. The white stood for the light, the day, the party, the black for the darkness and the abyss afterwards. With MAINPARK BABY I wanted to explore the middle between these two extremes.”

The album is named after the Mainpark high-rise settlement in Offenbach, where the rapper grew up. “I grew up there. Actually, I had a great youth, but a lot of things happened that shouldn’t have happened from today’s point of view. But I still go there often and have a lot of friends there,” says the rapper.

“The brown bag” is the first released song from the album and in the music video you only hear the first part until the rap stops and the short film begins. A family is shown, the mother wakes up two children and tells them to hide and stay there. She closes a door and you can see how the two parents are frantically looking for a bag. The father asks: “Did you pack your bag?” and the mother replies: “First the children, then the things!” while explosions can be heard again and again in the background. Then a cut to the children and the voices of the parents in the background. “What do you think about any things,” asks the mother, to which the father replies, “All our memories are in there.” We have our children”, she answers him and the chorus of the song runs through. Chehad Abdallah is directing the short films and a total of five parts are to be released. Arrest warrant shared his story on Instagram: “One life – one destiny. A short film series from Offenbach am Main” and the individual titles of the episodes “Flight, Innocence, Life, Pain, Death”.

The track list is also already known, since the album can already be viewed on Apple Music. So there will be 13 songs with features by Paula Hartmann, Kool Savas, Azad, Soufian, OG Keemo, Ufo361, Kalim and Nimo. The producer of the album Bazzazian produced all but two songs. The cover of the album shows the rapper with his son in his arms.

Most recently, Haftbefehl launched his #Babopizza. The two pizzas, which were released in cooperation with Gangstarella, have been available in selected supermarkets since November 3rd.
