Gymshark drives its nternational expansion ahead and opens its first flagship in New York City.

The store in the 11 Bond Street will open this year and extend over 1,200 square meters on four floors, said the British Sportswear provider. The store concept is based on that of the London flagship and is intended to combine retail, events and community space “to create a closer, more networked gymshark experience”.

Gymshark opened its first flagship in October 2022 in the London Regent Street. The success led to other core and pop-up stores in Westfield Stratford in London and Bicester Village in Oxfordshire and to his first international store in Dubai Mall, which was opened last month. Other core stores are also planned for London, Manchester and Amsterdam this year, the fitness brand added.

In the past 12 months, New York has become Gymhark’s North American home. The brand opened its US headquarters in Greene Street in June 2024 and organized its largest event in the city in September: NY: NY, in which over 7,500 members of the fitness community came together for a weekend at the Pier 36 to train to meet flexible and heroes. Gymshark also opened his first US pop-up store in November for more than seven years in Soho, which was decorated in a Christmas style.

“The very first event that we organized in real life took place in a tiny 90 square meter pop-up store in the Mercer Street in New York. There was the tone for so much that followed, ”said Gymshark boss Ben Francis. “The fact that we are preparing to open a flagship store in the city almost ten years later, which is ten times the size of this first store, is simply incredible.”

Gymshark’s expansion to North America is headed by Kim Dolder, a former manager of Abercrombie and Fitch and Under Armor, Kim Dolder, who was appointed managing director of North America in April.
