After seven seasons, GVAV-Rapiditas is back in the first division. In Veendam, coach Bas Veldman’s team won 3-0.
For an hour GVAV-Rapiditas had a hard time finding a hole in the wall that Veendam 1894 erected for its own purpose. In the end it was Ingmar Liezenga who broke the spell for the guests. His hundredth league goal was one to frame.
From almost thirty meters away, the top scorer shot the ball over Veendam goalkeeper Thijs Graver tightly into the intersection. With that, the resistance of the Veendanmmers, who officially need one more point to be definitively safe, was immediately broken.
Patrick Venema made the 0-2 less than a minute later, after which Liezenga determined the final score at 0-3.
