Good times Bad Times already knows many special love stories, but on Wednesday evening there was an extra surprising one to see in the soap. Viewers saw the love blossom between two characters who have Down syndrome.
In the convenience store in Meerdijk, Pim can’t take his eyes off a girl who, together with her father, entered the supermarket where he works. It seems like love at first sight, because both Pim and the girl can’t take their eyes off each other. Both Pim and the girl have Down syndrome.
Pim doesn’t know what to say anymore and can only smile when the girl walks out of the store, staring at Pim. When Demi (Noa Zwan) asks Pim what’s going on, he immediately knows how to describe his feelings. ,,I’m in love”, he says, but that immediately worries him. ,,It will be nothing. Love hurts and we are always alone.”
At the insistence of Demi and Henk (Johnny Kraaijkamp jr.), Pim decides to ask the girl out anyway. There is only one problem: ,,I don’t even know her name”, says Pim, to which Demi replies that she thinks the girl’s name is Fee. ,,Fairy…” Pim sighs, after which a twinkle can be seen in his eye. “It suits her perfectly.”
At the end of the episode you can see how Pim in a suit and with a rose in his hand is waiting for Fee for a date. ,,Is my hair okay?” he asks Demi quickly when he sees Fee coming. “It’s nice that you’re here,” says Pim to Fee, after which he gives her the rose and the two walk away together. “I think so too”, Fee smiles.
