Groningen invests another 9 million euros in much-discussed Double Dyke: experts see no grounds for criticism of ‘expensive’ lease price and ‘prohibited state aid’

With the Double Dike project, the province, Rijkswaterstaat and the Noorderzijl water board are experimenting with a new form of dyke improvement. The trial combines the necessary reinforcement of the sea dike at Bierum with nature development, ‘saline’ agriculture and the collection of silt from the mudflats.
