Groningen gas tap open again: almost twice as much gas needed this year as expected

In this gas year, which runs from October 2021 to September 2022, almost twice as much gas will probably be extracted from the Groningerveld as previously expected. Whereas the Ministry of Economic Affairs assumed 3.9 billion cubic metres, the extraction, according to calculations by network operator Gasunie Transport Services, amounts to a maximum of 7.6 billion cubic metres.
