Grijpskerk’s David Beckham is a soldier and scores a world goal against VEV’67 | Amateur football in Bird’s-eye view

Brian Tefi van Grijspkerk scored a world goal against VEV ’67 last weekend. He surprised the opponent’s goalkeeper with a beautiful shot from about sixty meters. For those who don’t believe it: there are images of it that Tefi himself has watched more than a hundred times.

The majority of amateur football matches last weekend were cancelled. In the fourth Sunday class C, only the match between ZNC and Eext took place. The home team squandered a 2-0 lead at halftime and lost 3-2. “But I’m not disappointed that we played football,” laughed ZNC coach Geert Dreise. “The field was fine. We were like that in the first half, but after the break we joined in Eext’s hard play. We conceded a goal three times from a standard situation. Should I train extra for that now? No. Normally we are quite good at that, but not this match.”

Top match coming up

Next week there is a cracker on the program in the first class. Oranje Nassau and WVV then play against each other. Both clubs are in the lead after nine matches. ON and WVV took twenty points in nine matches and have a goal difference of +13. ON won 2-0 against Velocitas this weekend and WVV played a goalless draw against Winsum. “We were not unlucky against Velo,” ON coach Erwin Heerlijn was honest. “Velo plays nicely, but is still young. They bark, but they don’t bite.” The coach thought ON did not play well against their city rivals, but is generally very satisfied with the game of his team. Midfielder Felipe Marcal Pinheiro in particular appeals to the coach. “That was my dream six for years. I’ve had my eye on him for years, but he always opted for the money. I am very happy that he is playing with us now. That boy can easily play football two levels higher.”

Beckham van Grijpskerk

Brian Tefi scored a goal on Saturday afternoon that has the potential to go viral. The Grijpskerk player shot beautifully from his own half against VEV ’67 (4-1 win for Grijpskerk). The goal, which David Beckham would lick his fingers at, was recorded and has already been viewed thousands of times on the Blik op Voetbal Instagram account.

Tefi himself also viewed the images more than a hundred times. “This is the most beautiful goal I have ever scored,” he shouted. “Before I got the ball, I saw the goalkeeper standing far in front of his goal. By chance the ball came at my feet and I shot straight away. When I hit it, I already knew I was going to score. It felt perfect.”

In addition to Tefi, Grijpskerk coach Rinie Jurna also knew immediately that it would be a goal. The trainer, always clearly audible along the field, shouts loudly in the video: “Yes, good ball!”, when the ball is just on its way.

For Tefi it was his second goal of the afternoon, but also only the second of the season. “I haven’t been very fit in recent weeks. On Thursday I was at the physio and he cracked me up. I can say it helped me quite a bit.”

Ten, ten, ten, against Zuidwolde

For Tefi it was a goal not to be quickly forgotten. Zuidwolde hopes to have no active memories of the past football weekend. The people of Drenthe visited leader Bon Boys with a 10-0 scoreline. For the bottom of the second division H, it was not even the biggest defeat of the season. In the cup, Olde Veste had already defeated Zuidwolde 12-0.
