The transfer market is not yet officially open. A second division club has already bagged numerous deals – and thus hurried quantitatively of the competition.

Second division Greuther Fürth announced the commitment of Felix Higl on Tuesday. The striker comes to the Franks from relegated SSV Ulm. However, the message, which is probably only of minor importance for the majority of football fans in Germany, is a considerable. Because Higl is already the twelfth newcomer to Fürth. The transfer window has not even opened.

Actually, players can only officially join their new clubs from July 1, 2025. As every year, many contracts for the coming season will be concluded earlier – and Fürth has taken advantage of this.

Freigance has so far been Mathias Olesen (1. FC Köln), Philipp Ziereis (LASK), Jannik Dehm (Hannover 96), Pelle Boevik (FC Ingolstadt), Juan Cabrera (FC Augsburg II), Noah König (Hoffenheim II), Omar Sillah (HSV II) and Sebastian Jung (Babelsberg 03). Timo Schlieck was loaned by RB Leipzig.

For Aaron Keller from Unterhaching and Lukas Reich from 1860 Munich, Fürth paid a total of 1.2 million euros. How much Higl cost is still unclear. However, the attacker still had a contract in Ulm until 2026, accordingly to the club may have earned some money. The “picture” speaks of a low six -figure amount.

The fact that Fürth has already signed a dozen new players is understandable in view of the numerous departures. 14 professionals left the club after the season has ended. The total break for the “cloverleaf” was therefore essential – also because the team only finished 13th last season.

In the league comparison, Fürth is currently lonely top with the number of new commitments. There were also upheavals at other clubs. Bundesliga relegation Holstein Kiel, for example, has already got nine players new, but also made ten professionals in conversely.

Among them are Benedikt Pichler and Jonas Sterner. Both professionals have joined league competitor Hannover 96. A lot has already happened in the Lower Saxony. Coach Christian Titz can welcome nine new professionals in his ranks. Hanover also submitted some top -class players. U21 international Nicolò Tresoldi, reportedly, brought the club around 7 million euros. Ex-international Marcel Halstenberg has ended his professional career.

Not so much has happened everywhere as in Fürth, Kiel and Hanover. FC Schalke 04, for example, has only been able to present two newcomers after a mixed season with Timo Becker (Holstein Kiel, Free Removing) and Soufiane EL-Faouzi (Alemannia Aachen, 200,000 euros). The KSC was also only active twice, Eintracht Braunschweig only three times.

The promoters from Bielefeld and Dresden were hardly active. Bielefeld has two new players with the defenders Tim Craftsmen and Jonathan Norbye, Dynamo Dresden brought only Hoffenheim’s U19 player Marlon Faß and Rostock’s Alexander Rossipal in addition to the permanently obliged loan striker Christoph Daferner.

The 1st FC Magdeburg was so far the least active on the transfer market in the 2nd Bundesliga. With perspective player Nick Meier (Hannover 96 II), an external new addition was added. The Magdeburg squad also includes around 30 players. Another reason could have been the long unclear coaching question. Just recently, Markus Fiedler was hired as the new head coach. A lot of work may still be waiting for him and sports director Otmar Schorck until the start of the season in August. The transfer window officially only opens in a week. So there is enough time.
