Between 1998 and 2000, Berhalter played 56 games for Cambuur, scoring twice and becoming player of the year twice. When Cambuur relegated, the central defender left on a free transfer to Crystal Palace in the English Championship. After wanderings in Germany, he eventually ended up in America again, where he ended his playing career with LA Galaxy. And then: a coaching career, so.
