‘Suspected drones above Germany flew deliberately about critical infrastructure’
The suspicious drones that were spotted last week above the German state of Sleeswijk-Holstein, deliberately flew over critical infrastructure. That writes the German weekly Der Spiegel. Germany opened an investigation into espionage and sabotage at the end of last week, after drones were spotted above the area in the night from Thursday to Friday.
According to the weekly magazine, the planes flew above an power plant, the University Hospital of Kiel and the parliament of the state government. According to an internal memo, who could view the Spiegel, two small drones were also spotted over an industrial estate in the port area, where, among other things, submarines are made.
It is not known where the drones come from.
Derrones have also been spotted in Denmark, Sweden and Norway in recent days. The European Commission thinks Russia is behind the drones that flew above the airport of Copenhagen, but is still waiting for the investigation into the violation of Danish airspace.
