After a year of making morning radio on Radio 10, it seems that Gordon has already called it a day. He openly doubts whether he wants to continue with the program and that can of course only mean one thing: a decision has already been made, because there is no listener who now thinks that you are enjoying making a program.

Killing

Gordon expresses his doubts in Frank van ‘t Hof’s show on Radio Veronica. According to him, it is ‘killing’. “I have to be honest: that morning show really kills me,” he says. RTL Boulevard.

He doesn’t know yet whether he wants to continue, he says he will ‘decide next week’. “Let me put it this way: I haven’t figured it out yet. I get up at half past four and last night I woke up at two o’clock. After that I couldn’t get back to sleep. It’s really impossible. Especially in the pattern I’m in now, it’s almost impossible to maintain. We have to take a look.”

Plug

Is Gordon trying to protect himself from a decision from Talpa? The Telegraph is critical. “Gordon and Froukje were hired to pull Radio 10’s morning programming out of the doldrums. But research by National Media Research shows that listening figures across the board have only fallen further over the past year.”

“Meanwhile, less than six percent of all listeners tune in to Radio 10 in the morning hours. In the target group of 20 to 49 year olds, which is popular with advertisers, it is even 5 percent compared to 7.7 percent in 2025. According to insiders, this already made the future of their show uncertain.”

Cold clothes

It is not the first time that Gordon has quit a morning show. He also stopped doing that in the summer of 2005 when he was still at Radio Noordzee. “Presenting a breakfast show for two and a half years is not going to bother me.”

That now seems to be repeating itself. “Gordon makes it seem as if the future of the morning show depends exclusively on whether he still feels like it. However, it has not yet been said that Talpa wants to continue with his ailing morning show at all. It could be that the born entertainer, regardless of his decision, can sleep in again after the summer.”
