Good news from the hospital

In the last few weeks, FC Bayern has had to do without a number of top players due to injuries. Now there is finally good news from the record champions’ hospital.

As the Munich team announced on Sunday afternoon, Serge Gnabry and Alphonso Davies were able to take part in team training again for the first time.

Both of them completed substitute training in the morning with the players who were not used in the Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig (2-1) on Saturday.

Gnabry suffered a muscle tendon injury in the left adductor area in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt in mid-December. Davies has been out since the beginning of February due to a strained medial ligament in his left knee.

Both had trained individually over the last few days, and now the next step towards a comeback followed. However, it is still unclear whether coach Thomas Tuchel will rely on the duo again on Friday against SC Freiburg.

FC Bayern still has a lot of injuries

What is certain is that FC Bayern currently needs all the help it can get to bring the difficult season to an end in the best possible way.

Without Gnabry and Davies, the Munich team had practically lost the championship in the last few weeks with defeats against Bayer Leverkusen (0:3) and VfL Bochum (2:3). In the Champions League, after the 0-1 in the first leg, you go into the second round of 16 duel with Lazio with a mortgage.

Due to the misery during the week, the club announced that Tuchel would have to vacate his post after the season. Since then, the motto on Säbener Straße with a view to the rest of the season has been: damage limitation.

Even after the return of Gnabry and Davies, FC Bayern are still missing a number of players in the important phase of the season.

The two full-backs Sacha Boey and Noussair Mazraoui continue to suffer from torn muscle fibers. Kingsley Coman is not expected back until April after tearing his medial ligament. Bouna Sarr (torn cruciate ligament) and substitute goalkeeper Daniel Peretz (injury to the medial ligament) will also have to watch.
