Golfer Bryson DeChambeau mocked after dramatic response: ‘I can’t see anything anymore!’ | Other sports

Bryson DeChambeau was injured in a special way during LIV Chicago. The American golfer wanted to go under a tight rope, but did not bend deep enough and fell to the ground. And now he is met with laughter.

Footage of the incident quickly went viral. After the tee from the 14th hole, DeChambeau has to pass under the rope that normally keeps supporters off the green. His caddy holds it up and DeChambeau thinks he can pass under it, but he can’t. The rope touches his face and knocks the cap off his face.

“Oh, my God,” exclaims 29-year-old DeChambeau, followed by some cursing as he kneels. “My right eye. My eye. I can’t see anything with it.” Moments later, he gets up to continue.

DeChambeau eventually ends in a tie for tenth place in Chicago and earns just under six tons with his performance. He is getting a lot of attention on social media.

Among others, former golf star / influencer Paige Spiranac pokes fun at her former colleague. In a video she tells how shocked she was by the terrible injury of DeChambeau (“He was almost beheaded”) and that she is very impressed by the American, who nevertheless persevered. “Golfers are really rock-solid and rock hard.”

Others draw the comparison with Larry Nelson, an ex-golfer who experienced heavy fighting during the Vietnam War. ,,And DeChambeau fought with a rope…”

Other jokes: “DeChambeau survived a rope attack!”, “DeChambeau is suing LIV because the dangerous rope was hanging all wrong, “We pray for you Bryson!”

The talk show OverDrive also pokes fun at DeChambeau: ,,He does it all by himself and then blames everyone. I wanted to like him, but he really is the loser that all people say he is. What kind of injury can you get from such a rope against your face?”

The American, winner of the US Open in 2020, has not yet responded.
