Golf: Yannik Paul gets top result

Golf pro Yannik Paul got a top 10 result at the Open de France despite a weaker final round. The 28-year-old from Viernheim played a 72 on the par 71 course in the DP World Tour tournament on Sunday and took eighth place in the final standings with a total of 276 strokes.

The Italian Guido Migliozzi clinched victory on the Le Golf National course southwest of Paris thanks to a strong round of 62 on Sunday. With 268 strokes, the 25-year-old overtook the Dane Rasmus Höjgaard (269), who had led after three rounds and played a 68 at the end.

With a 68, 69 and 67, Paul had positioned himself promisingly and was fifth before the fourth round. Marcel Schneider (Pleidelsheim/279) was the second best German in 13th place, Nicolai von Dellingshausen (Hubbelrath/280) was 20th.
