Second gold for Max Langenhan, eleventh medal for Germany: The Germans float on cloud seven at the Rodel World Championship in Canada.

With (at least) two gold medals in the luggage, tobogganist Max Langenhan will leave the idyllic whistler. After his victory in the one-man mixed relay, the run-up car from the BRC 05 Friedrichroda also won the individual competition-in front of his team-mate Felix Loch and the Austrian Nico Gleirscherer.

For the German team it was already the eleventh medal at this World Cup. The medal rain could be continued in the final team relay (2 a.m., CET).

Langenhan did not burn anything in the “Whistler Sliding Center” and was already on the go on a gold course in the first round. After his break, the Thuringian could not be dissuaded from the path in the final and won with best times in both runs.

Hole – silver a magnificent performance

The cheers at Felix Loch was at least as big. The veteran, who had missed the qualification for the Einsitz-Mixed relay in an internal excretion, pushed the silver rank and displaced gleferer after a famous second run. Loch only had this only appearance and delivered Brilliant.

Nössler again on the slide

Timon Grancagnolo (ESV Lok Chemnitz) was 14th in the final accounts, David Nössler from RSV Schmalkalden brought a World Cup result with 17th place, but had nothing to do with the outcome of the race. After his drama and the disqualification in the one-time mixed relay, it was initially unclear whether the Lower Austria could start again.

He had broken his foot just a few weeks ago and had climbed out of the ice rink in mixed for hard gangs on the home stretch. Nevertheless, he started – in view of the physical problems, he had no chance.

Team relay as a crowning glory?

The already filled medal account could grow again at night (from 2 a.m. CET). At the end of the title fights in the team relay Julia Taubitz, Max Langenhan, Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Rosenthal and Hannes Orlamünder/Paul Gubitz use gold. According to the previous ideas, the German sledges are at the start as a clear top favorite.
