In Paris, Lassisbek Mullojonow secured Olympic gold. Now the boxer has been blocked. He is said to have violated the anti-doping regulations.

Box Olympic champion Lassisbek Mullojonow from Uzbekistan has been temporarily blocked. The reason: The heavyweight gold medalist of the Paris Olympic Games is suspected of doping.

As the International Test Agency (ITA) announced, a prohibited active ingredient was demonstrated at Mullojonow during a check away from the competition on June 11th. Accordingly, dismantling products of the anabol-androgenic steroids methaasteron were discovered-a means that increases muscle building and power performance and is therefore on the doping list.

The ITA conducts the tests on behalf of the World Boxing World Association. According to her message, the athlete has now been informed about the result. He is now entitled to request an opening of the B test. If this is also positive-or Mullojonow foregoing the opening-this would be a violation of the anti-doping regulations.

In line with the anti-doping code of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the rules of World Boxing, Mullojonow was initially closed. At the same time, according to ITA, he had the option of making an objection to the lock and demanding its cancellation.

At the Olympic Games in Paris, Mullojonov defeated Alfonso Azerbaijanese in the final of the weight class up to 92 kilograms. Uzbekistan was the most successful country in the Olympic boxing with a total of five gold medals.
