Goalkeeper Almuth Schult expects a tight cup final against Turbine Potsdam

Before her last game with VfL Wolfsburg, goalkeeper Almuth Schult is preparing for a close cup final against Turbine Potsdam.

“Of the seven cup finals I’ve played so far, only one was clear,” the 31-year-old told the “Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung”. All final matches so far have been “razor sharp”.

The final of the women’s DFB Cup will take place in Cologne on May 28 (4:45 p.m. / ARD). Schult was surprised that “this final is always so exciting, no matter which opponent we play against, even against supposedly weaker teams”. In 2014/15, VfL beat Potsdam 3-0. Last season, the current cup winners defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 after extra time. Schult will move to Angel City in the USA in the new season.
