Glasner questions quarantine for people infected with corona

Frankfurt / Main (dpa) – Eintracht Frankfurt’s head coach Oliver Glasner has questioned the quarantine for corona infected people and promoted new approaches.

“You slowly have to ask yourself whether it makes sense if someone has to blow their nose three times a day and be sent to quarantine for a week. Or whether we shouldn’t say: Let’s finally learn to live with Corona,” said Glasner before the Bundesliga game against VfL Bochum, which takes place on Sunday (5:30 p.m. / DAZN). With the new Omikron variant, you might have to “reconsider and adapt the measures”.

There had recently been a few corona cases at several professional clubs, two Bundesliga games of FSV Mainz 05 were canceled due to corona. In the Eintracht squad, everyone is vaccinated, boosted or recovered. Glasner therefore advocated no longer comparing the current situation with that of two years or a year ago. It was “time to come up with a scenario to learn to live with Corona without putting partially healthy people in quarantine,” added the Austrian.

Glasner himself reported that he had recently completed several corona tests after symptoms, all of which were negative. “It’s still there, the normal cold and the normal cough. Hard to believe, but I had it,” said the 47-year-old coach.
