According to information from “L’Équipe”, goalkeeper Yann Sommer is about to switch from Borussia Mönchengladbach to the French first division club OGC Nice.

Negotiations with the club of former Gladbach coach Lucien Favre had “progressed in the last few hours,” the newspaper wrote on Tuesday. Summer is expected in Nice shortly.

A fee of 2.5 million euros is under discussion for the Swiss national goalkeeper, who is to receive a three-year contract.

Sommer has been number one at Borussia since 2014, when he replaced Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who had switched to FC Barcelona. In Nice he should close the gap of Walter Benitez, who has switched to PSV Eindhoven.
