Gladbach fan causes scandal at BVB game

With the impressive 4:2 win against BVB, Borussia Mönchengladbach provided another real highlight at the end of the Bundesliga year. However, the Foals’ triumph was overshadowed by the misconduct of a supporter.

As reported by “Bild”, there was an incident with a Gladbach fan and “Sat1” presenter Andrea Kaiser during the mandatory interviews after the game.

According to the report, during the conversation with BVB youngster Youssoufa Moukoko, the reporter hit the head with an orange ball. The club had previously distributed such balls to its supporters. The hit is said to have been caused by a shot by a spectator.

The 40-year-old suffered minor injuries in the incident.

“Even during the interview, people were calling my name and Moukoko’s. While I was asking a question, a violent shot hit me full in the left forehead. This caused my neck to snap back. Maybe I have a little whiplash. I was taped on the neck and I still have a headache, but I’m fine,” Kaiser told Bild.

BVB star must intervene after the incident

The perpetrator was arrested and identified by security officers immediately after the attack.

Moukoko had to catch his interlocutor for a short time after the action. As a result, Kaiser tried to cover up the events.

The recorded interview with the Dortmund attacker was initially not broadcast by “Sat1” so as not to stand in the way of possible criminal prosecution.

In the meantime, however, she has decided against taking legal action, Kaiser said. “I was advised to file a complaint. The guy probably wanted attention, i.e. autographs and selfies, but then apologized. That’s why I refrained from filing a complaint.”

The Gladbachers had previously achieved an important home win and played furiously at 4: 2. In particular, offensive player Jonas Hofmann played himself into the limelight again with a goal and two assists before his World Cup participation.
