Gladbach coach Seoane: “Of course we are not satisfied”

After the disappointing start to the season, Borussia Mönchengladbach has a big challenge in the Bundesliga, coach Gerardo Seoane goes into the home game against cup winners RB Leipzig with great respect. “We will need extremely good compactness, little space between the chains,” said the Swiss, “I expect great solidarity from my team in defense.”

Gladbach has not yet won and is in 14th place in the table with two points after the wild 3-3 draw at newly promoted Darmstadt 98 before the game on Saturday (3:30 p.m./Sky). “Of course we are not happy with the two points,” said Seoane . For the Lilies, “the ‘how’ wasn’t right, especially in the first half.”

At the Böllenfalltor the foals were 0:3 behind at the break. That’s why the “bland taste of the first half” remains, said Seoane. But the 3:3 “showed a lot of positive things in the end.” The coach expects “a completely different game against Leipzig. They have very dynamic players.”

In terms of personnel, there is hope for a return with Manu Kone and Christoph Kramer (“I think that both players will be available at the weekend”). Things are looking worse for Tomas Cvancara, who is suffering from a severe bruise in his thigh. “There is still some hope that it could be enough for him until Saturday.”
