The Dutch Daan Hoole from Lidl-Trek won the time trial of the 10th stage of the Giro d’Italia. On the track to Pisa he won the British Joshua Tarling (seven seconds behind) and Ethan Hayter (ten seconds behind).
For hool, it was the first stage win on a Grand Tour after 23 minutes and 27 seconds. In the overall ranking, nothing has changed in the first three places. The Mexican Isaac del Toro stays in the pink jersey for 25 seconds ahead of Juan Ayuso and Antonio Tiberi, the new fourth is Simon Yates, fifth is now Primoz Roglic, who was still falling on the damp surface in the morning.
Difficult conditions, Bernal loses a lot of time
In the pouring rain, the conditions for the drivers were consistently difficult, especially towards the end it got worse, but the leading drivers were largely able to limit damage. Eugan Bernal in particular suffered from the conditions and collected almost three minutes behind.
On Wednesday, a climbing challenge is waiting for the professionals that leads to the San Pellegrino in Alpe in Apennin at 1623 meters after a flat start. An increase of an average of 8.7 percent to 13.5 kilometers is imminent. After that, two shorter climbs are waiting. The three-week tour of Italy ends on June 1st in Rome.
