A National Women’s Volleyball Team said goodbye to the tournament after losing 3-0 to the USA in the Quarter-Final match of the World Women’s Volleyball Championship. Head coach Giovanni, who made a statement after the fight, said, “I congratulate the USA. They showed their best game of the tournament in today’s match. Of course, since they are Olympic champions, they know very well how to play such matches under intense stress. I don’t know how to say, but the tournament was neutral for us. “I can say that the tournament did not cause much sadness for us. Except for Thailand, which was a game we played well, but we won against all the teams below us, and lost against all the teams at the higher level than us. I think we did our job, but compete with the top teams in the world.” I think we have some shortcomings in terms of doing this,” he said.

Üstündağ: We did not play a good game as a game

Mehmet Akif Üstündağ, President of the Turkish Volleyball Federation, made a statement at the end of the match: “We ended the tournament today in the quarter-finals. We reached the quarter-finals, we were in the top eight, but we could not get a semi-final visa. We did not play a good game as a game. “We played a volleyball game, we accept it. Therefore, we are sorry, but I hope the European Championship will start next year, the world championship of clubs. It is a very young team, a team with a future. I believe they will do good things in good places,” he said.

Speaking about the championship organization, Üstündağ said:

“It’s a very bad organization, not me but all the convoys said that we already reached the hall from the hotel in 50 minutes. This is our third city in Poland, we are in Gdansk, Lodz and today we are in Gliwice.”
