Minister of Mobility Georges Gilkinet (Ecolo) has given the green light for the design of “middle lanes”. This is a new type of public road, which should provide more safety for vulnerable road users. The amendment to the traffic rules, which appeared in the Staatsblad earlier this week, will take effect from 1 October.
