Recommendations of the Editorial team
Less than two weeks after his victory at “I’m a star – get me out of here!” has himself Gil Ofarim on Friday (February 20) in a video about an apparently newly published, unauthorized biography. In it he advises his fans not to buy it – and encourages them to pick up his own book instead. With one catch: your own book is no longer available in physical form.
In the clip, Ofarim sits in front of a guitar amplifier and speaks directly into the camera. He found out “that someone had taken the liberty of writing a new book.” With regard to the speed of the publication, he literally says: “It even says ‘Victory at Jungle Camp 26’. The guy was really incredibly fast.”
Then he puts on his reading glasses and says: “If you ask me: it’s just AI.” He adds with a laugh: “And the images are all just AI.” His appeal to the fans: “Don’t buy this nonsense. Someone just wants to rip you off and make quick money with the number.” Regardless of this, it is not proven whether and to what extent AI technology was used in the creation of the book.
Ofarim wants fans to contact the publisher about a new edition
Instead, Ofarim, who reports “from the hospital,” recommends his autobiography “Freedom in Me,” published in 2021 (written by him and Lara Höltkemeier). “There’s a lot of heart and soul in it,” he says. However, the work is currently no longer regularly available as a printed edition, but is sometimes offered “for an unbelievable amount of money on eBay”. He suggests contacting the publisher about a possible new edition. However, the work is available as an e-book, he notes. The musician also announces that he will soon be in touch with his followers with “a lot of information and stuff”.
