Gigi Hadid ushered in the new year with a beauty transformation that did not go unnoticed. The supermodel, queen of honey blonde and of flippy bob (bob with upturned tips) which marked 2024, surprised everyone by showing off a new haircut: a matte black mini bobrenamed by his trusted hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos «matte black».
The coolest black of 2026
This is not just plain black. As Giannetos tells a InStylehe’s black «inky»without red undertones, cold and ultra contemporary: «A black Gen Z, modern, edgy». According to the stylist of the stars, there is no doubt: the matte black it will be the reference hair color of 2026.
The cut, just below the chin, was designed to enhance the color and personality of the look. Giannetos calls it a «mini bob»short but not too much, versatile and sensual. Worn with a side parting, wet effect and locks left free on the face, it perfectly frames Hadid’s features and highlights her iconic blue eyes.
Monochrome glam
To complete the transformation, the top model shows off a calibrated beauty look: bronze make-up, peach lips and an outfit played on shades of charcoal, with a semi-sheer blouse and a silver choker. A harmonious whole that strengthens the impact of the new color and makes the result sophisticated but decidedly bold.
A real transformation or just a test?
The doubt remains: Is it a permanent change or a wig chosen for a Maybelline campaign? For now Giannetos confirms that the look was born specifically for the brand, but only time will tell if Gigi will really say goodbye to blonde.
