In game one after the personnel quake at the Füchsen Berlin, it set a clear defeat for the master. The players then rejected a participation in the expulsion of coach Jaron Siewert.

The atmosphere in the sold-out Max-Schmeling-Halle was already at the low of half-time. When Füchse managing director Bob Hanning appeared for a break interview with the ARD near the stand, he was received by the fans of his club with bullings and whistles.

The team around world handball player Mathias Gidsel presented itself significantly unsettled by the personnel quake on Saturday, did not approach their shape from the successful pre -season and in the end clearly lost 32:39. Nicolej Krickau, who will now exercise the office of trainer and a sporting person in personnel, experienced a debut to forget.

After the clap, the players openly admitted that the chaotic situation had played a role in the defeat during the week. “Sure, we are people and not machines,” said world handball player Gidel. All players are aware of what Kretzschmar and Siewert would have given the club. “Sure, the club makes a decision, and that can have many reasons,” said Gidsel. “We are players and have to try to concentrate on what happens on the field”, but: “Of course that was difficult”, because “it will of course be very hard when a message comes,” said the 26-year-old.

Fabian Wiede also briefly described the week as “turbulent and eventful”. The team sat down, accepted the situation and tried to hide them. However, he was not sure whether everyone succeeded. “In any case, I really felt like it before the game and was extremely hot, but maybe one or two percent were still in the head. Unfortunately, that’s how it is,” said Wiede.

During the week there were also reports that some leaders of the team had campaigned for a change of coach. However, the players clearly rejected these rumors. Gidsel said the fox players were always in contact with Hanning and the club, “but it is not the decision of a player.”
