The long queues at the Helsinki Cultural Center are annoying. Helsingin Sanomat writes that the queues are up to 150 meters long.
Last Tuesday, at the Sibelius high school’s Christmas concert, all the hall doors were closed, even though some of the concert guests were still outside the hall.
They got in during the first half-time applause.
Kulttuuritalo has strict security measures and a security check is carried out at the doors, which is based on the instructions of Legends Global, the company responsible for Kulttuuritalo’s operations.
CEO of Kultuuritalo Emilia Mikkola says the queues are mainly due to problems in the flow of information and the great popularity of the events.
Those who have bought a ticket have been reminded to arrive well in time.
According to Mikkola, a large part of the people arrive only 10-15 minutes before the concerts start, which is when queues form.
Mikkola says at HS that in the future they could urge event organizers to start weekday gigs later than 7 p.m.
Kulttuuritalo, designed by Alvar Aalto, is located in Sturenkatu in Alpiharju, Helsinki. Several concerts and other events are organized at Kulttuuritalo throughout the year.
