Following a TV program The story of the Netherlands Also wants to start Drenthe with a similar initiative. Not on the screen, but in the form of audio, text and image. With so -called podwalks or other informative forms, it may be possible to discover ‘the story of Drenthe’ in a while.
The province supports initiatives for hiking routes that introduce people to the culture, nature and history of Drenthe. These thematic walking routes must contribute to the aim of the province to become the walking province of the Netherlands.
“We can bring the Drenthe stories to life with theme routes,” explains deputy Willemien Meeuwissen (VVD). “For example, how beautiful it is to find out more about Vincent van Gogh, the Hondsrug area or the colonies of beneficency while walking. This way we can enjoy the beautiful nature and the lively stories in our province.”
The subsidy is intended for municipalities or organizations that want to develop or improve a walking route. Consider, for example, collecting stories or making route maps, information panels and audio clips.
The province has 300,000 euros in a subsidy available for the current year and the next two years. A minimum of 4,000 and a maximum of 20,000 euros is available per project.
